Notes
The Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Cheste, just outside Valencia, opened in 1999 and is named after Valencian motorcycle racer Ricardo Tormo, a two-time 50cc world champion. The 4.005 km track runs anti-clockwise and has 14 turns: 9 left-handers and 5 right-handers. It sits in a natural bowl ringed by grandstands, so spectators can follow almost the entire lap from any seat. The lap mixes an 876 m main straight, which ends in the hardest braking zone and the best overtaking spot at Turn 1, with a tight, technical infield of slow and medium-speed corners that rewards precision and a strong corner exit. Valencia has been a fixture on the MotoGP calendar since its opening and has decided many world championships as the traditional season finale.
